Corticosteroids
?@Rinderon V (Betamethasone valerate ointment 0.12%)
?ARinderon VG (Betamethasone valerate/Gentamicin sulfate ointment)
Topical corticosteroid preparations control local inflammation and allergic reactions and suppress itching. Product ?A also contains gentamicin, an antibiotic.
Indications: Eczema, drug rash, toxicoderma, pruritus, insect bites, solar dermatitis, lichen urticatus, urticaria perstans, progressive palmar keratoderma, and palmoplantar pustulosis. These drugs are also effective for the treatment of alopecia areata, burns, frostbite, and hemorrhoids.
Dosage: Apply several times daily.
Precautions: The drugs should be withdrawn immediately after symptomatic improvement is obtained. If the treated lesion becomes infected, the corticosteroid should be withdrawn and appropriate antibiotic therapy should be initiated to suppress the infection.
Expiry date: ?A 3 years.

 

Other analgesics/antipruritics/astringents/anti-inflammatory agents
?@ Oronine H (chlorhexidine gluconate ointment 0.2%)
Oronine H contains chlorhexidine gluconate, a disinfectant.
Indications: Acne, eruptions, mild burns, chaps, chilblain, cracks, wounds, and dry ringworm.
Dosage: Apply directly or with gauze.
?A Vantelin (Indomethacin solution 0.75%)
Vantelin contains indomethacin, an analgesics/anti-intlammatory agent.
Indications: Muscular pain, back pain, joint pain, sprains, bruises, peritendinitis (pain in the hands or wrists), and elbow pain (tennis elbow).
Dosage: Apply 1-4 times daily.

 

Antimicrobials for dermatologic use
Antifungals for dermatologic use
?@Mycospor (Bitonazole cream 1%)
?AAstat (Lanoconazole cream/solution 1%)
Both bifonazole and lanoconazole act on the cell membrane of fungi and exert a fungicidal effect.
Indications: Tinea pedis, finea corporis, tinea cruris, candidiasis (interdigital erosions and dermatocandidiasis), and tinea versicolor.
Dosage: ?@ Applied once daily. ?A See the package insert.
Precaufions: 1. The drugs must not be applied to severely eroded lesions.
2. The drugs may cause local irritation, itching, redness, erythema, erosions, and skin splits.

 

Combined drugs
?@ Pyroehre (Pyrrolnitrin/Salicylic acid ointment 1%)
Pyroehre is a combination of pyrrolnitrin, an antifungal antibiotic, and salicylic acid, which softens keratin.
Indications: Eczema marginatum, finea pedis, and tinea maculovesiculosum.
Dosage: Apply once to 3 times daily.
Precautions: Use of the drug should be discontinued when any of the following symptoms/signs occurs: skin rash, redness, and erythema.
Storage: At room temperature. Expiry date: 2 years.
?A Polic Ace (Haloprogin!Glycyrrhetic acid ointment 1%)
?B Polic Ace is a combination of haloprogin, an antitrichophytal agent, and glycyrrhetic acid, an anti-inflammatory agent.
Indications: Tinea pedis, eczema marginatum, and tinea maculovesiculosum.
Dosage: Apply once or twice daily.
Precautions: The drug may only be applied to infected or erosive lesions after appropriate treatment. 2. Use of the drug should be discontinued when rash or dermatitis occurs.
?B Separin-T (Tolnattate/Chlorhexidine HCI ointment 2%)
Separin-T is a combination of tolnaftate, an antitrichophytal agent, and chiorhexidine, a disinfectant.
Indications: Tinea pedis, eczema marginatum, and tinea maculovesiculosum.
Dosage: Apply once or twice daily.
Precautions: The drug may only be applied to infected or erosive lesions atter appropriate treatment. 2. Use of the drug should be discontinued when rash or dermatitis occurs.

 

Emollients
Organic acid preparations
Speel Plaster M (Salicylic acid plaster, 25 × 25 cm)
Speel Plaster M is an adhesive plaster containing salicylic acid, which softens, degrades, and removes keratin.
Indications: Corns, callosity and warts.
Dosage: A strip of an appropriate size is cut and applied to the lesion and fixed with adhesive tape.
